Composite door manufacturer Vista Panels played its part in a £9.8 million development in South Ayrshire said to be Scotland’s largest social modular housing development.

The investment – which includes Scottish Government funding of £4.7 million – begins with the delivery of 63 brand new affordable homes, the first phase of a 250-strong property development located at the site.

Working with Riverside Scotland and Connect Modular, part of The Wee House Group, Vista supplied its GRP composite door for all of the factory-built homes.

Vista business development and marketing manager Ian Smith said: “We are thrilled to see our door used in this growing sector, and I feel it will really help tackle both the housing crisis and the environmental one.

“We’ve worked closely with several modular house builders this year, and it’s very rewarding to see our products being used on projects that contribute to transforming the housing market.

“The UK’s housing crisis and reducing our carbon footprint are both very important issues to us, and we’re therefore very excited to be partnering with companies that share the same values.”
