Emplas has made it onto the shortlist in the Best Fabricator category in the G21 Awards and its Customer Service Manager, Clodagh Driscoll is also nominated in the ‘Unsung Hero’ of the Year category.

Managing director Ryan Johnson, said: “The G-Awards are always a great event, it brings people from across the industry together and it celebrates innovation and success. This year for me, and I suspect a lot of other people, it’s going to be even more important because of what’s happened since G19.

“Our industry has gone through immense change, and although we’ve seen exceptional demand, we have also had to contend with some pretty substantial challenges.

“As a team we’ve worked hard to get it right and to continue to support our customers, something we haven’t always been able to do on every occasion.

“I do believe, however, that we’re now fundamentally better as a business, we’ve delivered some very creative solutions to the challenges we have faced and are working with our suppliers and our customers in closer partnership than ever before.

Clodagh joined Emplas, in 2008, working her way up through the ranks to become Customer Services Manager in June 2020, to head up Emplas’ 15-strong customer services team.

Ryan said of her: “I can’t tell you the hours that she and her team have put in to get customers what they need and to resolve problems. If there was an option for a team award, we’d have definitely entered them in it, because they’ve worked incredibly hard with an amazing attitude, even when things were pretty challenging.

“They’re not alone but Clodagh’s nomination is perhaps a wider recognition of how hard customer services teams, those on the factory floor, those in every part of every business, have worked to keep things moving.”
