Dear Tony

Further to the recent announcement in respect of Uniglaze 2 (East Anglia) Ltd being placed in administration the directors of SGH Ltd would like to make clear the factual circumstances relating to this matter.

In April 2011 Swift Group Holdings extended substantial financial assistance to Uniglaze 2 in order to allow restructuring of the company as a going concern. As part of this process it was necessary for Uniglaze 2 to enter into a creditors voluntary arrangement (CVA) which it did with the full backing of the company’s creditors.

Green Deal cash back does not go far enough

The Government’s newly announced £125 million worth of cash back payments for households who take early advantage of the Green Deal is a welcome incentive for helping the scheme get under way according to the Federation of Master Builders (FMB).

However, with a cap of £1,000 cash back per household for energy efficiency improvements, this money may only cover as few as 125,000 homes which is a fraction of the 14 million homes the Government hopes will be upgraded under the Green Deal by 2020.
