D&G Consulting’s Annual
PVC Roofline Industry
9th October 2012

Just released, the Annual PVC Roofline Products Industry Report from independent specialists D&G Consulting is the most up to date study on the current health of and prognosis for the market. Detailing the actual performance of the PVC roofline sector for 2011, this comprehensive 100-page report is packed with detail, figures, analysis and forecasts to 2015 on volumes and values for PVC roofline products (PVC-UE cellular foam profile; PVC-U twin wall hollow soffit; and PVC-U Rainwater products).

Importantly during this period of industry consolidation, this latest report covers the cellular foam profile industry in detail including production, export and consumption volumes by individual company.

David Amos, Principal of D&G Consulting comments: “While it may not make uplifting reading, this latest report certainly makes vital reading. As the market in the UK and the Republic of Ireland (ROI) for PVC roofline products continues to suffer from the effects of saturation and the current recession, it becomes ever more competitive.

“The demand for quality market information and forecasts by systems companies, their suppliers, and distributors therefore is no less crucial now than when the market peaked. The forecast through to 2015 for the industry is cautiously encouraging in the longer term but less so in the short term. However the roofline industry remains an important and substantial part of the plastics construction industry sector with an annual turnover close to £250 million and increasing.

“Thanks to our forecasting model that uses construction industry and economic forecasts along with comprehensive interviews with in the UK and Ireland, we predict that by the end of 2012, we’ll see a reduction in the volume of roofline products of 1.2%, followed by a slow growth by 2014.

“Although we expect a very modest recovery to take place during the forecast period, there are several areas that companies looking for growth should be considering. For example, the market value of PVC rainwater products and twin wall hollow soffit in particular is estimated to rise from £122 million in 2012 to £143million by 2015 – if, and it is a big if, new house building and non housing construction in the UK pick up pace as predicted. The report provides these insights. We are conscious that in today’s business environment, companies, institutions, accountants and banks are requiring more details and while it may be easier to bury your head in the sand or just take a guess at future trends, being armed with accurate and comprehensive information will give your business the best tools for survival and even growth, despite market conditions.”

The cost of the report is £2,350 (£2,000 to existing customers). All purchasers receive a free update to the forecast section in the autumn and following spring. The reports are sent by email. D&G Consulting are happy to visit and discuss the report and help you present the data in a format useful for individual businesses and stakeholders.
