GGF Welcomes £125m Green Deal Cash Back
23rd October 2012

The Glass and Glazing Federation welcomed the recent Government announcement on a new Green Deal Cash Back Scheme that will offer hundreds of pounds cash back to householders in England and Wales who make energy saving home improvements under the Green Deal from January 2013.

Under the Green Deal Cash Back Scheme the Glass and Glazing sector rates are:
Window replacement – single glazed to A rated £20 per square metre up to £320 maximum payment
Doors - £40 per door
Secondary glazing - £15 per metre squared up to £230 maximum payment

Nigel Rees, GGF Group Chief Executive commented, “It is good to see the Government offer homeowners this kind of incentive to take up Green Deal. Though we welcome this news, we still remain cautious over the implementation of Green Deal and our Members’ concerns on areas such as access, inclusion, bureaucracy and VAT disparity are still unresolved. We will continue to lobby Government on these issues and continue to advise Members to become Green Deal Certified via FENSA, so they will be in a position to accept Green Deal work should opportunities arise early next year.”
