Niklas Braun (38), chairman of the Rehau Automotive Executive Board and head of Automotive Engineering and R&D, has now been appointed to the Rehau Group Executive Board. In this role, he will represent the high turnover automotive division at worldwide level.
Niklas Braun has been employed by the privately-owned polymer specialist since 2002. A graduate engineer, he has held various management positions within REHAU in Production, Supervisory Board Staff, R&D, Technology and Innovation Management. As head of Production/Technology, he was also deployed to the US as a member of the REHAU North America Executive Board for two years. He was appointed to REHAU’s Automotive Executive Board, which has worldwide responsibility, at the beginning of 2009 and became chair in 2011.
Considering the forthcoming challenges in a demanding business environment, the REHAU Group is pleased that, in Niklas Braun, it has been able to appoint an internationally experienced junior executive from its own ranks.
Alongside construction and industry, the automotive division is one of the three pillars within the REHAU Group. Every third vehicle produced in Europe is equipped with at least one of the polymer specialist’s system solutions, such as bumpers. REHAU is a development partner of all of the large automotive manufacturers in Europe including Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche. In 2011, the worldwide turnover of the REHAU Group amounted to more than 2.5 billion Euros, of which the automotive division accounted for more than 30%.
