23rd October 2012
 |
The GGF has launched a new online Technical Section as part of the GGF website www.ggf.org.uk.
The Technical Section is split into three separate areas of information; for consumers/homeowners, for trade and general construction and an exclusive Members only area which is accessible via a personal log in.
As well as full access to all the GGF’s Technical publications, the Members Only Technical area also has direct access to the new ‘Route to CE Marking’ micro-site with all the advice and guidance Members will need to comply with the EU legislation if; they manufacture products that are permanently installed into construction works, that are covered by a harmonised European Standard (hEN) and are sold in the EEA (European Economic Area). A full list of harmonised European Standards (hENs) is also available on the CE Marking micro-site.
In addition, the new Technical Section will allow Members to leave comments on the Technical Bulletin on the technical issues the GGF are working on.
Giles Willson, GGF Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Technical Affairs commented on the new online features, “The GGF Technical team are working on many fronts at present from major industry issues such as CE Marking and Building Regulations changes as well as contributing to the industry Standards and developing technical publications. These new online services are welcome additions as it is essential the Federation provides online information platforms to keep GGF Members fully up to speed and well informed on any technical developments and news both in the industry and at the GGF”.
Also in the Members only Technical area, GGF Members will be able to access all the Datasheets in the Glazing Manual including all the latest GGF Technical Datasheets for easy downloading, printing or viewing.
