Versalux belt machine proving popular
23rd October 2012

Following the relaunch late last year of Bohle’s Versalux Mark V abrasive belt machine, First Glass in Surrey is just one of more than thirty customers who are seeing positive results from their investment. Danny Tucker, owner of First Glass, says, “The Versalux is a great machine for small businesses and with limited space. It does not take up much room, it’s reasonably priced and it means we can take on more varied work that previously would have been outsourced.”

The Versalux was designed to be a simple, low-cost, all purpose single belt edgeworking machine and, as Danny Tucker confirms, “it is hard to get single belt machines now, which is what we needed. We are getting excellent results from it on small shape jobs: table tops, kidney shapes, circles. We can add value to what we offer customers and get the benefit from being able to do this type of work in-house.”

Alic McCabe, Sales Promotion Manager at Bohle Ltd, agrees: “The Versalux Mark V has been popular with glass shops and companies who want a general grinder-polisher. Over the last few years there has been renewed interest in the Versalux machine and we are still supplying spares and belts for machines well over twenty years old. Fundamentally the design of the machine has stayed the same but we have updated and improved things such as the onboard recirculating water cooling system, the chassis, guards and electrics.”

The results speak for themselves. As Danny Tucker says, “Versalux offers a CNC finish but not at CNC prices. It’s a great value machine for the money.”
