CMS move to new 15 acre site
23rd October 2012

CMS Enviro Systems, one of Scotland’s largest independent window manufacturers, have relocated their Scottish headquarters to a new multi-purpose 15 acre site. The new premises is now home to a 130 strong work force and are strategically placed at Castlecary, adjacent to the M80, one of Scotland’s busiest motorways.

This exciting new move follows the company’s continuous expansion during the financial year 2011-2012, on which it has continued to build by securing a further £8m of contracts in the first six months of this current financial year. The new factory and offices were required after CMS outgrew the 80,000 sq ft. factory in Cumbernauld. The new premises are now home to the company’s PVCu and aluminium manufacturing, recycling and administrative functions. The relocation was meticulously planned over several months to ensure continued manufacturing with no disruption to existing contracts.

The new 15 acre site combines state-of-the-art manufacturing and recycling facilities with increased amenities for staff and visitors. The move and expanding order book has also helped CMS to support the local community by safeguarding and creating further employment opportunities in North Lanarkshire.

Andrew Kerr, managing director of CMS Enviro Systems, said: "Our move comes after months of careful planning, discussions and research. As levels of manufacturing and recycling were surpassing all of our expectations and growth projections, we acknowledged that we had to invest in larger premises to accommodate our expanding order book. The location was strategically chosen to best serve our existing contracts next to one of Scotland’s main motorways.”

The company has seen significant growth over the past two years with multi-million pound contracts being awarded by local authorities, utility companies, main contractors and several other private and public sector clients. Also, Primary and High Schools, such as, Calderbridge Primary School, Greenhill Drumpark Primary School and Coltness High School, completed for Graham Construction, who voiced their support of the ambitious relocation.

John McHugh Contracts Manager for Graham said “We are hugely supportive of CMS expansion. They have provided a seamless service to us throughout the move, proving their top priority at all times was to ensure all contractual commitments were fulfilled to the highest standard. It’s great to see a company thrive in this difficult economic climate and invest in its own and its employees’ futures.”
