Safe as houses

It will probably take you a little over four seconds to read this sentence.

Now, double that and see in a video published this week what a burglar can do in that time with a three quid door lock.

Security has been the hot topic of the industry since Doc Q first appeared on the horizon, whether in the form of legislation, products or initiatives but sometimes it takes a little shock to bring home the reality. Anyone who has ever worked close to the police or the courts knows of the incalculable emotional harm caused by intruders, over and above the material cost of the damage. Perhaps a few more pounds on the four figure cost of windows and doors is a small price to pay for peace of mind.

Elsewhere, we have some more cheering figures about the commercial glazing and construction markets, albeit tinged with more frustration over the threat of labour shortages.

…not to mention of course a few very clever dogs and a very unlikely ambassador for bi-folds.

Fear or cheer, dogs or slobs, we hope there is something in this week’s issue for everyone.
