New fire door glass

Glass manufacturer, VETROTECH UK has launched a new 8mm fire resistant Pyroswiss glass following successful testing at Cambridge Fire Research Centre.

Vetrotech UK’s technical team completed the test of its 8mm thick Pyroswiss E60 fire rated glass within FD60 timber doors.

Vetrotech UK general manager Andrew Lake said: “We’re excited to bring Pyroswiss E60 to our expanding product range. A more robust products mean less chance of damage or breakage during transportation and handling. We pride ourselves on the toughened glass advantage that Pyroswiss E60 brings.”

The base glass Vetrotech uses within its fireglass range is Saint-Gobain Planiclear glass which offers the highest possible optical qualities available.

Its lower iron content reduces the level of absorption thereby increasing the level of solar gain (g value).
