Door Panels ceases trading
Door Panels, the long standing Worcester based door manufacturer has gone into administration with the loss of all reported 40 jobs. The company has ceased trading.
Staff arrived for work on Monday morning to discover that Manchester-based company Leonard Curtis, a specialist in business rescue and recovery, had been called in.
Two joint administrators, Neil Bennett and Michael Healy, were appointed and redundancy notices have been issued to all 40 members of staff.

Leaderflush Shapland to stop Barnstaple door making
Door manufacturing in a Devon town is to stop at the end of November, with the loss of about 75 jobs. The Leaderflush Shapland factory, originally established in Barnstaple in the mid-1800s, used to be one of the town's biggest employers.
The Laidlaw Interiors Group, which took over the business in August last year, said it had been unable to find a "commercially-viable solution". However, it said some sales staff would remain on the site.

Phoenix Door Panels offers help with unfulfilled panel orders
Phoenix Door Panels has offered to help customers left with outstanding or incomplete orders for PVC-U door panels following the news that of Worcestershire-based Door Panels Ltd had ceased trading last week.
The Cambridgeshire-based composite door and door panel manufacturer is waiving its £10 delivery surcharge for 24-hour delivery on any of the 121 standard designs its brochure until the end of October.

New Report provides a snapshot of the window and door industry
Insight Data has published its annual Fabricator and Installer Report which reveals 4,209 fabricators and 12,127 installers are active in the window and door industry across PVC-U, aluminium and timber products.
The report highlights the decline in PVC-U fabricators and increase in aluminium manufacturers; along with continued growth of niche products.

Fourth Hall Added: Maco First to Sign
A fourth hall has been added to The FIT Show with hardware giant Maco the first to choose a stand in the new area.
Around 90% of stand space in the original three halls was sold by June, despite the plan being extended within weeks of the event’s launch. With just a handful of stands remaining on the original floorplan the the decision has been taken to open up a fourth hall, offering approximately 700 metres2 net of additional exhibition space. Maco is the first to take space, choosing a substantial stand in the new facility over the remaining stands on the original floorplan.

Low Rise Glazing System Patented
The new Modal low rise façade system from architectural aluminium glazing supplier, Technal, has received a European patent for its innovative and technically advanced design.
Modal uses a modular framing system which gives specifiers a choice of configuration options currently available for low rise façades. It also reduces work on site – the framing modules are fully fabricated and assembled in the factory for better quality control, rapid installation and on-site glazing.
