Securistyle Offers Free Guide to Standards
11th September 2012
Industry standards and legislation are constantly moving targets which can make it difficult for manufacturers to keep up – especially if you use a broad range of components. With changes announced to standards this year, Securistyle has devised a flowchart of all the window and door hardware standards that shows how they interrelate and how they apply to different companies.
Dave Walsh, Sales and Marketing Director of Securistyle comments: “Securistyle has a team of experts that are constantly in touch with the very latest developments in hardware standards. We wanted to share this expertise with the industry in an easy to use guide, taking companies through BS EN 14351-1. Hopefully the flowchart will make it easier for manufacturers to see at a glance, which of the many standards they need to be aware of and which are relevant to their business. BSEN 14351-1 derives from a European standard which identifies performance characteristics that are applicable to windows, external pedestrian doorsets and screens. The flowchart we have produced takes into account UK specific requirements of this standard.
“When the market is constantly changing in terms of both demand and legislation, manufacturers want to know they are working with suppliers that understand the market place and the legislation that governs it. We’ve got over 100 years of experience in our management team alone, so we are well positioned to help our customers make the most of the opportunities that lie ahead.”
