Veka has announced an exclusive contract to supply all PVCu profile to UK Windows and Doors Group (UKWDG) after the group’s decision to close its own Duraflex extrusion business.

The five-year contract will see the extruder supply both its Veka and Halo systems for a five-year period from September alongside its existing long-standing role as exclusive supplier to UKWG’s timber-alternative Evolution division.

UKWDG’s other PVCu profile-based operations include: the SafeChoice Partnership, supplying selected independent installers with its range of windows, doors and conservatories backed by sales and marketing support including lead-generation, and Sevenday, a trade supplier operating with three ‘super-fabricators’ via a national network of 27 trade counters.

Evolution, which was acquired by the group in 2015, operates via an approved dealer network of independent installers working in exclusive sales territories via around 120 retail sites.

The news of the new UKWDG contract has ‘sparked conversations’ throughout the industry, according to one long-established major Veka fabricator which has assured customers that it is ‘navigating the situation’ to ensure its service to customers is unaffected (See separate article: https://www.the-glazine.com/?p=9715).

UK Windows and Doors Group last week announced the planned closure of the Tewkesbury site https://www.the-glazine.com/?p=9668 only eight months after losing the 3,500 tonnes a year supply contract with national retailer Safestyle.

Veka plc MD Neil Evans, announcing the latest move, said: “It’s been great to work alongside UKWDG, owners of Evolution. We are extremely pleased to be expanding our partnership and it gives us a huge sense of pride that Veka will be UKWDG’s supplier for the future.” Neil continued, “signing this long-term supply agreement demonstrates immense trust in us and we will continue to repay that trust by delivering an excellent product backed by steadfast support. I expect that this relationship will flourish for many years to come”.

Matthew Scoffield, CEO of UKWDG said: “the advanced product technology, professionalism, quality, service and strong operational support that we see from Veka led to them being the clear choice for us when looking for a profile supplier for the long-term. They have already proven to be a stable, efficient and trustworthy supplier to our business and produce high quality products that are designed to last.”
