A North West window and door business that went into liquidation earlier this year owing over £2.9million has been found to have misled customers by claiming it had 50 years’ experience and displaying a Trustpilot 5-Star logo.

The Advertising Standards Authority today reported that it upheld the complaints against Viva Doors Ltd of Ashton-under-Lyne, t/a Vivafolio.

The complaint follows a claim on the company’s website stating: “Viva has been designing, manufacturing and installing glass, doors and aluminium structures, that are both beautiful and functional, for over 50 years” alongside the Trustpilot logo.

The ASA received no response from the company and so it ruled that in the absence of any evidence, both claims were misleading.

Records show that Viva Doors Ltd entered voluntary liquidation in February with debts of £292,000. Its creditors included Trustpilot.

The current Trustpilot review for VivaFolio shows a 2.6-star rating.
