Fentrade Aluminium manufactured and supplied a range of commercial products for a renovation project at Ysgol Pontrhydfendigaid School in Ystrad Meurig near Aberystwyth.

The project involved creating new entrance screens made using a mixture of low-rise Kestrel Aluminium curtain walling, thermally broken commercial entrance doors and incorporating AluK 58BW casement windows inset within the curtain wall.

The entrance doors featured large pole handles for ease of use and the casement windows were fitted with restrictor hinges to lessen the chances of anyone running into the open vent. Glazing used was Suncool Pro-T solar control glass.

The project ran smoothly and the attention to detail was evident throughout the project. Fentrade director Chris Reeks said: “By incorporating the AluK AW625 dedicated curtain wall outerframe into the casement design, the windows were glazed easily and effectively into the curtain wall structure to ensure a watertight seal and reduce installation time on site.”
