Some 130 Spectus Vertical Sliding windows were used in the refurbishment of Sovereign Park House, a Grade II listed building in a conservation area in the North Yorkshire spa town of Harrogate.

The building had previously been converted into eleven apartments and now the new windows were specified as part of a wider refurbishment programme on the property.

The Spectus in-house commercial design facility provided information that covers WER’s, structural, window loading and load bearing calculations and detailed section specification for the installation.

The heritage appearance of the Spectus Vertical Sliders met all the aesthetic requirements on such a sensitive conservation project and delivered the standards the conservation officers at Harrogate Borough Council required.

The installer was Countrywide UPVC of Ormskirk, Lancashire, whose director Paul Campbell said: “The new windows have sympathetically transformed the homes and we have already received feedback from the occupants that their homes are now warmer and quieter as a result.“
