The good news from the British Federation Rating Council (BFRC) just keeps coming, with confirmation that the industry’s most trusted rating provider for over 25 years has received Approved Body status from the Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC).

Richard Sellman, Managing Director at BFRC explains: “We’re absolutely delighted to confirm that the BFRC has obtained Approved Body Status, which will enable us to carry out initial type testing where required for UKCA marking.  Our unique Approved Body number is 8359.

“It’s been a long and thorough process to get to this point and it’s taken a lot of hard work and commitment from the team, but we’re delighted at the opportunity this presents us to widen the scope of our offering.  As well as the recent launch of our U-value Scheme, which is already proving popular, we are working on more initiatives behind the scenes which will enable us to further extend the credible, reliable and knowledgeable service we provide, not only to our members but to the wider industry too.

“The BFRC played a fundamental part in driving the standard of the industry forward when the Window Energy Ratings Scheme was adopted back in the early 2000’s, and now – at a time when further scrutiny is being placed on the fenestration industry to prove compliance both at manufacture but also in situ – we’re pleased to say we are doing everything we can to provide our clients with services that enable them to meet their compliance and regulatory requirements.  We are fully committed to leading by example yet again in our drive to improve industry standards.  We have a strong, knowledgeable team and as experts in our field we want to do everything we can to share that knowledge and experience for the benefit of the industry.”
