Ikon Aluminium Systems has gained PAS 24:2016 for its IKL50 PAS 24 outward-opening single and double aluminium louvre doorsets alongside its existing IKL50 PAS 24 fully welded aluminium security louvre system, giving it the claim of the first in the UK to gain the standard for the suite.

Both were independently tested against Annex A: Security hardware and cylinder test and assessment and Annex B: Enhanced security performance for doorsets.

The outward-opening single and double doorsets are suitable for uses such as access to a computer server, plant or generator room, secure refuse areas, bike stores and underground car parks, or for the secure storage of high value goods, with airflow. They are fully welded with mechanically fixed aluminium bird mesh. Both comprise 20mm steel security bars and a full-height continuous heavy duty security hinge, with high security lock with 29mm bar bolt, anti-snap euro cylinder and armoured strike. Single or double skin insulating blanking panels can also be fitted.

The louvre system can be used as a fixed, top, or side screen to complement the PAS 24 door systems.  It can also be used as a stand-alone product and can be glazed-in or fixed between structures.

Ikon offers any standard RAL or BS coloured powder coat finish on all its aluminium louvred products.

Group MD John Park-Davies said: “This latest round of security testing means that we can now offer our customers a complete suite of independently tested, PAS 24:2016 approved aluminium louvred products.  We are particularly pleased as we believe that we are the only company in the UK to do so.

“Subsequently, we are ensuring our customers can access the very best and secure aluminium louvred products in the market.  In addition to the unique nature of these security products, we are proud to say the components are locally sourced, and then fabricated and powder coated in the heart of Britain.”
