UAP has announced yet another acquisition with the purchase of online business Maher London.

The move is the lock and hardware supplier’s second acquisition in as many months, after it bought Security Hardware from Eurocell PLC in December, and its fourth in recent years.

Maher London, already a customer of UAP, supplies products under three brands, Xfort, Sequal and Renov8, through online outlets including Amazon.

UAP chief financial officer Bonnie Hodson said: “We have seen Maher London rapidly grow and have been impressed by the team’s specialist knowledge of online retailing. This expertise will significantly strengthen UAP’s online presence, both in the UK and overseas, and further broadens our product offering.

“Strategically, the acquisition means we can respond more effectively to the latest buying trends, which since the pandemic, have not only seen more consumers make online purchases, but tradespeople as well.”

Maher London director Adnan Haruf, Director said: “My business partner, Hassan Jamil, and myself built Maher London with a focus on offering our customers exceptional levels of service, quality and value. We have taken great pride in scaling up the company, especially the Xfort brand. Our ambition is to build Xfort’s reputation around the world, and with the backing of the UAP group, we are confident we can do just that.”

The previous acquisition, Security Hardware supplies domestic PVC-U door and window hardware, including products under the Schlosser Technik brand, which is supplied online and through Eurocell branches.
