Multiple award-winning fabricator Shelforce has been shortlisted in the Diversity and Inclusion category at this year’s LGC Awards.

Shelforce, a service within Birmingham City Council with 75% of its 31 staff disabled, has received numerous awards for inclusivity in the workplace including last year the King’s Award for Enterprise in Promoting Opportunity (through social mobility).

Business manager Howard Trotter said: “We have continuously invested in the diversity of our staff and have initiatives in place to train vulnerable people with a physical or mental disability to provide a career that they can excel at, and our increasing success is very much down to them.”

Howard now must complete a presentation and interview with a specific judging panel made up of senior and influential figures within local government before the winners being announced at the LGC Awards on Wednesday 12 June 2024 at JW Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel.
