Systems from Smart Architectural Aluminium were used in a barn refurbishment for Sally Bigg OBE, formerly Sally Gunnell, 1992 Olympic 400 metre hurdles gold medal winner.

Around the barn, owned by her and husband Jonathan, five sets of Smart’s Visoglide lift and slide doors have been installed, along with 16 Alitherm 300 casement windows and three EcoFutural tilt and turn windows.

At the rear of the property, an Alitherm Plus residential door has been installed, while a Sherbourne front door from Smart’s statement Designer Door range completes the scheme.

All windows and doors were finished in a textured black, polyester powder coat paint finish.

Sally said: “We took a long time to decide on the windows and doors as they are so important not only to the overall look of the property but also to the way we live and work in it. Integrating the indoor and outdoor spaces was really important and we are all absolutely delighted with the end result.”

Smart’s managing director Eddie Robinson said: “We were delighted to work with Shaws and Everglade Windows on such a prestigious project and for such a high-profile client.”

Everglade director Jay Patel said: “We have worked with Shaws Installations for over 15 years, during which time we have developed a close partnership and outstanding working relationship.”
