Pilkington has launched OptiView Ultra anti-reflective, high transparency glass in the UK to support architects specifying for the retail and leisure sectors.

The glass is said to be able to reduce visible light reflectance to less than 1%, compared to 8% typically provided by standard glass.

The glass is suitable for high light environments where visibility is crucial, including retail display, and entertainment and cultural venues. It’s also suitable for technical applications such as digital signage and touchscreens.

It can also be laminated, toughened and bent.

Craig Bain, VA Sales Manager at Pilkington United Kingdom said: “There are numerous sectors and applications that can benefit from using the glass, from retail to residential.”

The glass is now available in the UK in various thicknesses from 4 mm to 10 mm, both single and double coated. The product is stocked in St Helens and is available for distribution directly to customers or through the Pilkington UK branch network.
