Two fenestration companies, Senior Architectural Systems and disability employer Shelforce have been named in Charles III’s first Kings Awards for Enterprise.

The two are among only 148 organisations nationwide to have been recognised with the award, the first since the new King’s accession.

Birmingham-based Shelforce (See separate article https://www.the-glazine.com/?p=9125) comes in the category of Promoting Opportunity Through Social Mobility. The window fabricator employs 30 people of whom 75% have a disability.

Senior’s win, in the Innovation category in recognition of the design, development, and delivery of its PURe aluminium window system with its patented thermal barrier (See also https://www.the-glazine.com/?p=9123).

The Award programme, now in its 57th year, is the most prestigious business award in the country, and continues the legacy that began in 1965 under the name of the late Queen Elizabeth II. Shelforce and Senior, like other winners, now qualify to use the King’s Awards Emblem for the next five years.

The King’s Award for Enterprise is awarded in four categories of Innovation, Sustainable Development, International Trade and the Promotion Of Opportunity Through Social Mobility.
