Integral blinds manufacturer Morley Glass & Glazing says production is now back to normal after the Czech factory of supplier Pellini was destroyed by tornado.

Orders from Leeds-based Morley were delayed slightly last week but Pellini has since shifted some production back to other sites including its HQ in Italy.

Managing director Ian Short said after the disaster: “Our thoughts are with our supply chain colleagues at Pellini CZ following a catastrophic tornado strike.

In addition to this, many of the houses belonging to the employees and their families have also been destroyed. The Red Cross are currently working to provide temporary shelter in the area.

“We are working closely with Pellini Italy to take the necessary steps to minimise the inevitable delays which will result from this disaster.”

The tornado hit the southern border region of the Czech Republic on June 24, killing five people and injuring around 100.

Morley has also posted a link to the disaster fund set up to support the victims.
