DoorCo has launched an Innovation Week to announce a number of new products.

Among them are Eaton blank and the modification of the ¾ lite blank.

Sales managerIan Glenister said: “Eaton will be available in our tallest, widest size ever (950mm x 2100mm) with equal trimability at both the top and bottom of the slab, allowing the slab to be rotated 180 degrees and used both ways. This means from one slab, you can create multiple designs like the hero of the collection, the Eaton which has the square moulding at the top and the Knightsbridge with the twin verticals at the top. Furthermore, by cutting the twin vertical mouldings into a half-glazed aperture, we then create the Tatton.”

On the ¾ lite blank, he added: “We’ve simplified the mouldings to maximise the number of designs that can be made from the single blank. We have also updated the grain to an etched line detailing to give not only add more styles to the Eaton collection, but to give this product a more superior finish. Bringing together these two slabs creates a full new range of designs, which is also a great concept for our distribution customers.”

The company has also announced a new version of Gripcore, to be available from January. Ian Glenister explained: “The core now comprises layers of both PIR foam and HDF plywood, compressed between two sheets of aluminium. The combination of foam and wood provides enhanced thermal capabilities and impressive strength, whilst the aluminium acts as a vital layer for protecting against moisture infiltration.

“It’s then finished with an additional sheet of exterior grade plywood and of course, our signature 5mm GRP skins complete the design for flawless correlation with the core. When you bring all the elements together, you’re presented with a one-of-a-kind, premium slab that delivers a low centre pane U-value of just 0.8.”

The company has also introduced six stable door designs to its Gripcore and Original ranges: Belfry, Pevero, Sunningdale, Merion and Merion 4 Grid.

The Flip cassette system has also had a revamp, as Mark Towers, head of operations explained: ““The new corners and connectors will be pre-screwed to the external cassette to immediately save time in the preparation stage. Alongside the time factor, the new corners and connectors clamp to both the inside and outside of the door and glass to provide an additional level of security. The safety of the unit is then further supported with the addition of a 3rd screw in the corner piece.

“Flip can now be installed in a twin vertical door, like our Carnoustie design, in around seven minutes only, and to prove it we have compared FLiP to another leading cassette system in a genuine time trial, all recorded on video. The video is featured on our new FLiP web page, which also details the other changes we have made to make FLiP even quicker, easier and safer.”

Finally, the company has introduced an extension of its Noir glass range. Marketing manager Ellie Pool explained: “We’ve worked with our partners RegaLead to create some stunning new glass for Noir. There are 6 new designs called Empire, Jazz, Metropolis, Palazzo, Speakeasy and Blossom, which perfectly showcase the new Eaton, Knightsbridge and Tatton door designs, but look equally stunning in some of our existing Designer doors, like Monza II Augusta and the Links Augusta Long.”
