DoorCo Has unveiled a timber composite door as the first innovation to come from its a new Doncaster manufacturing and research facility.

Head of operations Mark Towers said: ““We’re in the final stages of bringing our new door to market now and it is due to go into full production very soon.

“The new slab will be available in existing styles including 6/4 combi, flush, farmhouse, as well as two new exclusive designs just for this range. The product will be made in Doncaster and prepped, if required, in Macclesfield and distributed along our normal supply routes. The product collection will also come in over 15 standard colours.

He continued: “Doncaster represents a sizable investment in infrastructure, team and machinery for DoorCo, but we’ve created a new home dedicated to DoorCo Manufacturing to support our overseas partners in the production of our growing composite door portfolio.  We’ve also made a space for R&D that gives us greater flexibility to create, test and trial more products, right here in the UK.

“Innovation is something DoorCo is renowned for, and something we are fully committed to doing more of. This commitment was recently highlighted by our ‘Most Innovative Business’ win at the UK Manufacturing Awards. The award recognises our work on the recent Innovation Week marketing campaign which saw us launch over 10 new products and supply chain updates in just five days. Engineering and creativity are qualities we pride ourselves on, so to have been awarded this title is a real badge of honour for us and sets a great benchmark for 2024 and our Doncaster plans.”
