Morton bounces back with acquisitive Boing Boing Group

Industry figurehead and tireless charity fundraiser Gary Morton has returned to the industry with the surprise creation of the acquisitive Boing Boing Group Ltd (BBGL) and immediate plans for four acquisitions – and hints of more to follow.

The first acquisition, of long established Midlands fabricator, CentralRPL, is now complete with Morton as MD, joined on the board by Martyn Elwell, Sales & Marketing; Richard Griffiths, Non executive, and David Martin, Finance.

BFRC has reiterated that it will pursue rogue installers making false claims after a court ordered a Swansea company to pay £5,400 in fines and compensation over false claims including an ‘A+’ window rating and also BBA accreditation.

Budget ‘unimpressive’
says GGF

The Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) has dismissed last week’s budget as “yet another budget that doesn’t have great significance for our industry.”

Nigel Rees GGF Group Chief Executive said: “The bold plans to fund infrastructure projects with £15b may be positive for some in construction but it won’t have a huge impact on the glass and glazing industry.
