Specialist disability employer Shelforce has been named Business of the Year at the Great British Business and Community Awards 2023.

The news of the award comes less than a month after the fabricator was granted The King’s Award for Enterprise in Promoting Opportunity (through social mobility) https://www.the-glazine.com/?p=9125.

The Great British Business and Community Awards recognise businesses, charities, and individuals that have achieved, contributed, impacted, and made a difference across Great Britain.

Its Judges commented on Shelforce’s huge business growth, inclusive approach to employment and training, and strong company culture. The company also demonstrated its capacity to grow and plan for future development and its ability to adapt, diversify, and contribute to the community.

Business manager Howard Trotter, who was presented with the award at the black-tie award ceremony at the Hilton, Reading, said: “To receive the Business of the Year award in the evening after the announcement that we had been awarded The King’s Award for Enterprise was a momentous day for Shelforce and the team.

“Being recognised for both our inclusivity and the manufacturing side of the business is fantastic as both are the reasons behind our continued success. The Great British Business and Community Awards recognise businesses that have made an outstanding contribution across Great Britain, and we are delighted to win the award.”
