Dudley’s Aluminium has gained a third police HQ contract in as many years, having been chosen to work on the new Dorset Police headquarters at its Winfrith site.

The Cardiff-based fabricator will be working with Willmott Dixon Construction for the project which will include a 30,000 square foot, three-storey Grade A office building. The design will incorporate a contemporary mixture of glazed curtain walling and facing brickwork. 

Dudley’s will install Metal Technology System capped curtain walling, doors, and manual and automatic windows, in addition to automatic entrance doors.

The project is also being designed to the BREEAM ‘Very Good’ sustainability standard and will include air source heat pumps and an array of photovoltaic panels.

Dudley’s MD Colin Shorney said: “We are excited to be working with Willmott Dixon to transform Dorset Police’s headquarters, providing a high-quality work environment for those serving in the force and benefiting the wider community.”

The fabricator has previously completed Gwent Police’s headquarters in Cwmbran and South Wales Police’s headquarters in Bridgend.
