Trade fabricator A Plus Aluminium has installed a new SBZ 140 profile machining centre from Elumatec UK.

The machine is in place at the company’s facility in Watford, replacing one of the older machines and bringing the total back to five.

Joint managing director Jon Palethorpe said that, while beneficial to all customers, the new SBZ 140 is particularly rewarding for the company’s kit customers, who purchase machined profile ready for assembly.

“This has been a key growth area for A Plus in recent years,” he said, “Historically, some fabricators switched to kit supply due to the complex machining involved with the doors, this was certainly the case for those without access to a CNC. However, now we are also seeing those who are changing the way they do things post-pandemic, and this has been exacerbated by the rising cost of energy and materials.  Having the option to buy in kit form saves them time, resource and money.”
