Window Ware and its staff are celebrating more than doubling their usual annual Hospice fundraising after two special events helped take this year’s total to over £3,000.

The boost came from last year’s Valentine’s Day and National Hospice Care Week fundraisers, which together brought in £2,295 after the company pledged £5 for every order taken on the two days.

The rest was made up by a charity TV auction following a summer upgrade of boardroom equipment at Window Ware’s Bedford HQ and a team entry in the October Bedford 10K Starlight Hike.

The money will fund around 143 hours of expert care for patients at the Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice in Moggerhanger.

MD Sam Nuckey said: “Spiralling costs, rising demand, and a drop in public fundraising are putting huge pressure on hard-working charities like Sue Ryder which rely on charitable donations to continue their vital services. That’s why this amazing result couldn’t have come at a better time.

“We’re immensely proud to be able to support the first-class care that Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice provides, so thanks to all those who got involved or gave a donation and made our 2022 fundraising effort so successful!”

Charlotte Griggs, Community Fundraiser for Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice replied: “We’re so grateful to Window Ware for continuing to support us over the last 12 months. They held some fantastic fundraisers in 2022 and raised an incredible amount of money, which will help us to be there when it matters for families going through the most difficult times of their lives.”
