The Window Company (Contracts) has broken its own G-Awards record, this year winning the Installer of the Year title for an unprecedented fourth time.

David Thornton, chair of the Chelmsford-based business, said: “At a time when the whole window and door industry has faced immense challenges in terms of Covid lockdowns, new safe working protocols, supply chain shortages and rising prices, this fourth award probably means more to us than ever.

“It’s a fantastic tribute to the outstanding commitment of everyone at The Window Company (Contracts), which meant we could continue delivering really excellent service to customers throughout the pandemic, while still growing our business and expanding our team.

“We were recognised for initiatives such as the bespoke app we created so that we could do our onsite POWRAS via mobiles, achieving ISO45001 at our first attempt, joining the Good Business Charter to promote better business practices. and championing the implementation of the Living Wage right across the industry.

“As a business we never stand still and I’m delighted that the judges could see that, even in a lockdown, we were still able to make significant progress.

“In one of the few categories where an independent G-Awards judge visits the shortlisted companies to assess the entry, and even goes out on site to inspect the work of a fitting team, it’s a particularly impressive achievement.”
