Gareth Jones has been appointed Managing Director of the Solar Group’s Huthwaite based operation.
The operation comprises of three separate trading entities: Solar Calibre Doors Ltd, Solar Norvik Ltd and Taylor Manufacturing. Collectively the businesses employ over 100 people across sites in Huthwaite and Barnsley.
Gareth Jones said, “There is huge potential for our businesses, all of which have maintained quality and supply throughout a very challenging period for the industry. We are in a great position because of our ‘strength in numbers’ – we have a committed supply chain, a reliable manufacturing route and offer an efficient service, all of which is critical for our customers particularly given the current market conditions.
“It is now time to develop our offer as we approach 2022. There is lots of work to be done but we have the capacity and the capability, so are looking forward to an active, engaging year ahead.”
Solar Norvik operates in the new build developer market, manufacturing and installing window and door products. Based in Barnsley and Huthwaite, it operates out of two sites, over 80,000 sq ft.
Solar Calibre Doors, based in Huthwaite, over 73,000 sq ft produces GRP, timber, fire and composite doorsfor the trade and commercial installer sector,
Taylor Manufacturing is window and door fabricator producing a range of fenestration products for the wider group as well as selected business partners.

Solar Windows, serving the Commercial Sectors with expertise in Social Housing window/door refurbishment and Newbuild Developments. It manufactures PVCu windows/doors, timber and GRP Composite fire doors, plus the WarmCore PVCu/aluminium hybrid window and door system. Solar Windows operates from four sites, over 40,000 sq ft in Wales.
Interframe:manufacturing window and door products for the trade market. Based in Paignton it operates from five sites, over 70,000 sq ft.
