The directors of the Roto Group launched a new marketing tagline, reflected on a globally challenging economic year and looked ahead to 2025 with a focus on digitalisation, automation and sustainability initiatives at the company’s annual press event held at the end of 2024.
With Roto preparing to mark its 90th anniversary, Group Chairman, Dr Eckhard Keill, paid tribute to founder Wilhelm Frank, “an entrepreneur who paved the way for the industrial production of window hardware”. “He had the vision and a positive outlook on the future”, said Keill, before unveiling the new marketing tagline, “Today. Tomorrow. Roto”.
Keill admitted that last year’s 2% turnover rise was likely to be replaced by a drop of around 1% for the calendar year 2024. “It’s not what we hoped for, but it’s not dramatic”, he said, noting that many markets were still awaiting a positive turnaround in the number of new construction projects.
He went on to talk positively about the window and door industry in general, saying that the sector deserved more recognition for its environmental achievements. ‘“37 million energy-efficient windows are already installed globally, but 209 million older units need to be replaced worldwide if we are going to take environmental protection seriously”, he said. He called on everyone in the industry to “express our pride in what has been achieved and therefore create a positive mood”. “We need to make a lot more people want new windows and for customers to think of our industry first when it comes to saving energy.”
