The Window Company (Contracts) Ltd has been awarded Moat Homes’ window and door replacement contract, in an agreement which will see the Chelmsford based commercial installer fitting windows and doors in Moat properties up until at least the end of 2026.

Remarkably, The Window Company (Contracts) was first awarded the Moat Homes contract in 2010 via main contractor Keepmoat, so this new agreement extends their unbroken partnership to more than 15 years.

During that time, The Window Company (Contracts) has installed an estimated 15000 PVC-U windows and 7420 residential doors and fire doors in more than 5000  Moat Homes’ properties throughout Essex, Kent, South London and Sussex. Tracked customer satisfaction levels are currently running at 98%.

The most recent contract award was via a competitive tender at the start of 2024. The Window Company (Contracts) had to demonstrate not only that it had the operational capability, resources and high level of training to meet the demands of the programme, but that it could consistently meet the highest standards on everything from resident and client communication to health and safety and waste management.

A particularly significant part of the tender was demonstrating tangible commitment to Moat Homes’ social value agenda and a willingness to support charitable programmes in the areas where Moat operates and provide job opportunities, training and work experience.

The Window Company (Contracts) has worked hard in this area since the original appointment by Moat, working with the Moat Foundation to make donations for Food Bank and charity collections and providing support with products and labour for community build projects.

Key to The Window Company (Contracts) success in the social housing sector is its ability to combine a very personal and resident focused approach with market leading operational efficiencies and bespoke scheduling, surveying and reporting systems, which easily match the most advanced in the sector. Both the client and the resident get all the benefits that come from dealing with what is still, at its heart, a highly responsive family run business with an overwhelmingly customer focused culture – rather than an inefficient large corporate with extended decision making process.

Rob Petre, Managing Director of The Window Company (Contracts) commented: “We’re never complacent about our contract or relationship with Moat. In order to retain a contract of this scale and this complexity, you have to be demonstrating continual improvement right across the board – from RLO performance to responsiveness and accountability in project management and we have consistently done that.”

The Window Company (Contracts) is an award winning commercial installer operating across London and the South East. Alongside ISO9001, ISO45001 and ISO14001, the company is PAS2030 accredited for SHDF funded projects, and holds the BSI Kitemark for Surveying and Installation.
