Epwin Window Systems commercial director Ray McGrady and customer service advisor Tony Lloyd took on the iconic London Marathon course to raise funds for charities close to their hearts.

Ray said: “It was incredible to be able to join 53,000 runners on the start line. The crowds along the route were amazing and crossing the finish line was a special moment I’ll always remember. It was a privilege to run the event to raise funds for British Heart Foundation. Without their amazing work, my dad wouldn’t be with us today.”

Tony added: “It’s the London Marathon! A marathon is always tough, but all the training paid off on the day. It was an honour to run this world-famous course on behalf of SpecialEffect, who I’m an ambassador for.”

Ray McGrady finished in 04:27:54, raising £2,131 for the British Heart Foundation and Tony Lloyd completed the course in 04:56:22, raising £3,618 for SpecialEffect, which transforms the lives of physically disabled people right across the world through the innovative use of technology.

The British Heart Foundation funds around £100 million of research each year into all heart and circulatory diseases and the things that cause them.
