Building Our Skills has issued an urgent appeal for cash to help students from less well-equipped schools to attend its bespoke careers fairs next month.

The organisation has set up a GoFundMe page to pay for minibuses and coaches to ferry pupils from schools without their own transport to the events it is running as a part of National Careers Week.

The two events will feature over 30 of the industry’s top names aiming to talk to over 1,000 students about 50 careers that are available if they look to the Fenestration, Glass and Glazing sector as their career of choice.

“Let’s show what a supportive industry ours is, and let’s do what we can to get youngsters hearing about, and understanding the fantastic opportunities that the Fenestration, Glass and Glazing industry can offer to meet their career ambitions,” said a spokesperson.

“All donations, whether £5 personally, or a corporate donation will be hugely welcome and greatly appreciated.”

The two pilot events, to be held as a part of National Careers Week, in South Yorkshire at the Oakwell Stadium, home of Barnsley FC, and in Manchester at the Etihad Stadium, home of Manchester City Football Club in conjunction with the local authorities in South Yorkshire and Greater Manchester respectively.

Launch partners for the initiative include Rehau, Schuco, GGF, Bohle, FIT Show, GQA Qualifications, Liniar, CNC Recycling, Corgi Fenestration and Veka among many others https://www.the-glazine.com/?p=10693 .

The aim of these fairs is to engage directly with the education sector and show school children aged 14 upwards the vast array of career opportunities that the sector can offer, says BOS.
