Debar has taken part in three major events in Dubai as part of a sustainable trade mission developed by the Department of Business and Trade involving the 33 companies that make up the Northern Powerhouse group.

The Bradford-based bifold hardware manufacturer exhibited at the Big 5 Global event in Dubai, took part in discussions at COP28 around Dubai’s future vision in reducing carbon emissions, and attended a business meeting organised by Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone and hosted by His Highness Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi.

International sales manager Tim Shaw, who was present at all three of events, said: “For many years we’ve been incredibly driven to become more sustainable as a business and so, when we saw the chance to become a part of this formidable group, we knew it was something we couldn’t miss.

“We’re extremely proud that we were picked to join the Department of Business and Trade’s UAE sustainability trade mission and we can’t wait to get stuck in and learn more about the developments in the wider construction industry in UAE and the Middle East.

“We’ll be sure to make the most of this incredible opportunity and we’re looking forward to exploring how our products can offer solutions to the GCC market, understanding more about the process of supply for our products across the GCC and also networking with prospective partners.”

The Northern Powerhouse is a group is made up of experienced and forward-thinking businesses from Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Sheffield, Hull and Newcastle formed to help create a thriving economy within these cities and the surrounding areas.
