The collaboration between AluK and Arkay Windows and Contractors on the £77m Canada Street mixed use development in London’s docklands has been rewarded with a nomination in the Commercial Project of the Year category at the G23 Awards.

As well as the finished building with its 4600m2 of glazing, the nomination recognises the way the two companies worked together to overcome every challenge on the project – from the tight timescales to a lack of space on site.

Canada Street was the first large scale installation of AluK’s new C70S 70mm window system and demonstrated just how it can be integrated into a design scheme alongside AluK’s residential doors, curtain walling and commercial entrance doors to achieve a uniform look and finish.

AluK is hoping for a hat trick of wins, having been winner for the past two years in the Customer Care Initiative of the Year category.
