Stellar aluminium windows, fabricated by Prestige Aluminium of Bishop’s Stortford were chosen for the refurbishment of Victoria Lodge, a day service for adults with learning disabilities and older people, in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire.

The project involved the manufacture of 16 Stellar Flush Casement Windows with the glazing units featuring laminated glass to maximise safety. The exterior faces were powder coated in moss green, RAL 6005M, to replicate the colour of the original timber windows, with white internal faces to complement internal décor.

Prestige managing director Gavin Taylor said: “The team at Victoria Lodge needed to replace the ageing timber windows in their building that were thermally poor. Stellar gave them the clean line aesthetics they were looking for in addition to the next-level thermal performance improvements too.”

Epwin Window Systems Business Development Director Phil Parry added: “Stellar was developed predominately as a domestic system but, as this refurbishment project shows, it has clear commercial advantages too.”
