Technal and Wicona owner Hydro has announced the acquisition of Hueck, a German-based aluminium fenestration systems extruder.

The buyer says the acquisition will reinforce its position in Europe and strengthen Hydro Building Systems in Germany and other European markets with a broader product range.

Hueck is based in Lüdenscheid, Germany and is also active in the UK as well as Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, The Netherlands, Czech Republic.

Hydro Building Systems, with 3200 employees, provides aluminium solutions for windows, doors and facades. It strives to develop a sustainable approach with new solutions, which contain at least 75 per cent recycled and 95 per cent recyclable material.

Completion of the transaction is subject to approval from competition authorities in Germany and Austria and is expected by end of first quarter of 2023.
