Euroglaze is signing up to its local metropolitan borough council’s BeWell@Work health initiative aimed at helping businesses identify their priorities and providing relevant training for key members of the workforce.

The Barnsley based trade fabricator Euroglaze has already instigated free, regular blood pressure checks at its factory after an employee survey which revealed particular concerns around heart health. It has also begun sharing useful workplace health information with staff and signposting external resources to support both mental and physical health.

Managing director Martin Nettleton said: “Staff retention, recruitment and productivity are more important than ever at the moment. We already have very low levels of staff turnover, but if we can keep our staff even healthier and happier, then it’s a big win for the business.”

Euroglaze’s commitment to the BeWell@Work programme has already delivered a Bronze good practice award, and it is on course to progress to further awards over the coming months.
