A team from Sternfenster has raised £300 after completing the 2022 Colour Dash, beating their own target and raising much-needed funds for St Barnabas Hospice.

Lisa Grant, Wayne Pillai from the Office Admin team, Ed Davies, James Burt from Accounts, Collette Hyatt and Alex Wilding from Retail, and Collette’s daughter Ava Hyatt had set themselves a target of £250, but thanks to donations to their JustGiving page, an overflowing donations bucket, and a helping hand from Sternfenster, £300 was eventually handed over to the charity.

“This is a cause that means a lot to the staff at Sternfenster,” said MD Mike Parczuk, “Many of our amazing team members have lost loved ones too early. Hospice care has made a world a difference to them, making such a difficult time that much easier.”

Team organiser Lisa Grant said there was a real carnival atmosphere with fancy dress, group warm-up events, and refreshment stands.

“About 1,600 people took part in the Colour Dash, with a further 1,500 spectating, so it was very lively,” she said. “It was clear that everyone was excited to get back to meeting up and having fun after the last couple of years we’ve had. The fact that we could help a vital local charity in the process made it even more worthwhile!”

The Colour Dash was chosen by the team after St Barnabas was one of three featured charities during one of Sternfenster’s quarterly Charita-Brew events, where each employee is given a £10 token to give to a charity of their choice. £10,000 a year is given away to charities by Sternfenster via this method.
