An Ultraframe roof was the choice when the owners of a stone-built farmhouse standing at nearly 1,000 feet above sea level in Yorkshire wanted to update their hardwood conservatory after they had been told that every Ultraframe roof is designed to withstand the wind and snow loads at the exact postcode of its installation.

Local installer Ryburne Windows upgraded all of the windows, doors, and the roof from hardwood to PVCu in agate grey. The owners chose a new glass roof with self-cleaning glass and a modern gable design above the French doors.

Mr and Mrs Ratcliffe say their newly-upgraded conservatory has become the hub of their home – used as a garden room, an additional lounge, for breakfast dining and a space for entertaining.

David Radcliffe concluded: “We absolutely love our new conservatory, and it has so many uses. It’s an extra socialising space, we use it to relax in, we entertain in here, and I can’t wait for summer when we’ll be using it all the time.

“It’s a very flexible space and we love how the roof is self-cleaning. It’s also a much warmer space than our previous conservatory. In addition to all of this, we have increased the value of our home.”
