Vertik-Al has become the first in the UK to install a Cube Grande vertical powder coating booth from SAT (Surface Aluminium Technologies) SRL of Italy.

The unit, which is installed into the existing line, is said to have the ability to produce more coated product due to its operational capacity. This includes shorter colour changes and more targeted application, with less potential for cross contamination.

With its ‘V’ shape design and optimised layout of components, tests prove that the Cube Grande application efficiency (percentage of fresh powder directly applied on the profiles) is markedly higher than older less efficient booths. These improvements also offer environmental advantages, which go some way to support customers in their own green credentials.

This is the fourth in a series of planned multimillion pound investments for Vertik-Al, which in recent years has also installed two Magic Compact horizontal powder coating plants and an upgrade of an existing horizontal line at its Birmingham-based facility.

As with the Cube Grande, the horizontal plants use Gema automation and gun technology.

Vertik-Al holds the Qualicoat quality label and is to be a member of the Aluminium Federation (ALFED), the secretariat for Qualicoat UK & Ireland, and remains the only applicator in the UK and Ireland to hold the GSB quality seal.
