Aluplast is on course to double its capacity for the UK and Europe with its new £26million, 50 twin extrusion line facility, due to start production in Poland by next summer.

The first stage of the new factory, which includes a 183,000ft2 warehouse, was completed at the end of 2019 and has been in use for over a year.

“The scale of our existing manufacturing capability, which includes a huge amount of investment in foiling has meant that we have been very well placed to ‘weather the storm’ of the last 18 months,” said Ian Cocken, director of sales and marketing.

“We have been able to maintain a strong level of supply, despite raw material shortages, and compared to some of our competitors, we have done so while keeping our surcharges to an absolute minimum.

“We’ve been particularly well placed to deliver on increasing demand for foiled product, with high levels of our core stock finishes available ‘on the ground’ in the UK. That’s been a key driver for growth for our customers throughout the home improvement boom, who have been able to take advantage of growing consumer interest for colour and foiled finishes.”
