Tilstock C of E Primary School in Whitchurch, Shropshire, saw its Covid-19 ventilation requirements improved as part of a transformation by from Oswestry Windows and Doors using Optima windows from Profile 22.

The school underwent an extensive renovation programme to replace its ageing timber sash windows, including some which could no longer open therefore compromising the ventilation for staff and pupils.

The 42 Optima replacement windows for the project were manufactured by long-standing Profile 22 fabricator Emplas and installed by the commercial team at Oswestry Windows & Doors. White casement windows were specified with Georgian bar detailing to retain the building’s aesthetics.

The award-winning Optima system delivers thermal performance of 1.2 W/m2K U-value as standard. It is PAS24:2016 compliant.

Matthew Dunne-Smith, Owner at Oswestry Windows and Doors, said: “We needed to keep the original character of the building while at the same time upgrading the performance of the windows. The new Optima casement windows have transformed the look and performance of the building and ensured adequate ventilation is available to support the school’s Covid-19 protocols.”
