Lumi, the radical ‘frameless’ window from Apeer, is now available in aluminium.

Available with triple and double-glazed options, Lumi Aluminium offers the same all-glass design as the original composite-framed versions, with the same continuous glazed exterior but slimmer sightlines from the inside.

Profiles are constructed using aluminium outer and inner profiles, bridged using hidden PVC-U sections that are rolled in to provide a thermal break. Insulation and strength of the profiles are further enhanced by internal sections being foamed with PU during manufacture.

Lumi aluminium is available from launch with black or anthracite external finishes, with a range of RAL colour options internally. A range of matching Lumi sliding and entrance doors are already available.

Apeer managing director Asa McGillian said: “The aluminium version will provide our installer partners with a full suite of options for homeowners and professional specifiers, the latter of whom especially have shown a great deal of interest in the possibility of Lumi in aluminium.

“We have designed Lumi Aluminium to be perfect for the home improvement market, being simple to handle and install and with no beading or gaskets to cut and fit on site. And the edge-to-edge glazing is immediately arresting and appealing for homeowners looking specifically for aluminium windows.”
