Entries are now open in the search for the Screwfix Top Tradesperson of 2024 with once again £20,000 worth of tech, tools and training to be won.

The retailer is once again inviting entries from Britain and Ireland to take part in this, the 15th annual contest to celebrate ‘the professionalism and outstanding work that tradespeople do for their industry’.

“There’s an abundance of exceptional talent across the board,” said the retailer’s marketing director Jack Wallace, “but we’re particularly looking for someone who goes the extra mile for their customers and acts as an ambassador for the industry, helping to inspire the next generation of tradespeople.”

Last year’s winner Astrid Arnold said: “The Screwfix Top Tradesperson award marked a significant turning point in my career. While I’ve always been passionate about helping others, the award has given me a bigger platform to help enact change, including providing greater visibility for women in the industry and working with schools to promote the incredible opportunities a career in the trade can provide.

“Already, I’ve been able to use the prize bundle to grow the existing training programmes that my company offers, including supporting disadvantaged women in the local community to improve their DIY skills and make positive changes in their lives. They’ve been delighted! Often, women can go unnoticed in the industry, but winning this award is recognition of the excellent contribution we make.”

Entries close on Sunday 14th July. Following entry, the standout applicants will be shortlisted to take part in a semi-final interview in August. From there, ten will head to the final at Screwfix Live in Farnborough on Friday 27th September.
